I didn’t want to do boy things like play sports, so he kind of said he was expecting it. Because of their strong religious beliefs, they’re very accepting people. I believe that their religious beliefs actually aided in them accepting me and loving me as God would love me. That was a plus. I previously had a long term heterosexual relationship, so it was a little hard for them to maybe believe that it wasn’t just a phase; it was actually who I am, who I identiﬁed with, but overall I would say they were supportive and remained supportive.
